Delete pages from a PDF

Remove the pages you don’t need and save a cleaner PDF.

or drop it here · paste with Ctrl+V

What it does

Take out blank pages, duplicates, cover sheets or pages with details you’d rather not share. Every page is shown as a preview you can open full size, so you can be sure before you delete it, and Undo brings a page back if you change your mind. The pages you keep are copied as they are into a new PDF; your original file stays untouched.

How to use it

  1. Click “Choose a PDF file”, drop a PDF onto the box, or paste with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac).
  2. Click the × on each page you don’t want, or select several pages and click the bin in the toolbar. Use the magnifier to read a page before you decide.
  3. Changed your mind? “Undo” brings back the last page you deleted.
  4. Click “Save PDF” and download the new file. Your original isn’t changed.

Common uses

  • Removing blank pages a scanner added between double-sided sheets
  • Leaving out pages with account numbers or personal details before sharing a document
  • Cutting the cover, ads or appendix pages from a downloaded report

Tips

  • Open a page with the magnifier before deleting it if the preview is too small to read.
  • Deleting pages makes the file smaller only when those pages had their own images; shared fonts stay in the file.
  • To keep just a few pages out of many, “Extract pages” in Split PDF is quicker than deleting the rest.

Questions

Can I get a deleted page back?

Yes, until you save: “Undo” restores the last change and “Undo all” brings back every page. Your original file is never changed, so you can also start again with it.

Is deleted content really gone from the new PDF?

Deleted pages aren’t copied into the new file. A few PDFs store images for many pages in one shared place, though, and then some of that data can come along unseen. For sensitive documents, print the new PDF to a fresh PDF before sharing it.

Why can’t I delete every page?

A PDF needs at least one page, so the last remaining page can’t be deleted.
