What it does
This generator makes static QR codes: what you type is stored in the pattern itself, so the code keeps working forever, even if this site disappears, and scans aren’t tracked. Many free generators make “dynamic” codes instead, which send every scan through their own server and can stop working when a trial ends. Besides links and text, it builds the formats phones recognize: a Wi‑Fi code that joins a network without typing the password, a WhatsApp code that opens a chat with your number and an optional message, and email and phone codes. Download a PNG at up to 2048 pixels, or an SVG that stays sharp at any print size. The encoder was written for this site from the QR code standard (ISO/IEC 18004) and runs in your browser. It doesn’t add logos.
How to use it
- Choose what the code should open: “Link or text”, “Wi‑Fi”, “WhatsApp”, “Email” or “Phone”.
- Fill in the fields. The code updates as you type, and a message tells you if something is missing, such as a country code.
- Optionally pick the error correction level and the colors. Keep the code dark on a light background.
- Scan the preview with your phone to check it, then click “Download PNG” or “Download SVG”.
Common uses
- Printing a Wi‑Fi code for guests at home, in a café or in an office meeting room
- Putting a WhatsApp code on a shop window, menu or package so customers can message you
- Adding a link to a menu, flyer, business card or event poster
- Linking a printed CV or report to an online portfolio or the full document
Tips
- Test the code with two different phones before you print a batch. A code scanned from further away must be bigger: a common rule is a width of at least one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Shorter content gives a simpler code with bigger squares that scans more easily, so use a short link and drop tracking parameters you don’t need.
- Keep the white border around the code when you place it in a design. Scanners need that quiet zone to find the code.
