Compress image to 30KB

Compress an applicant photo to under 30 KB.

or drop them here · paste with Ctrl+V

What it does

A 30 KB limit is common for applicant photos on online portals: small enough for the site, with room for a clear face. Add your photo and it will be compressed to under 30 KB as a JPG.

How to use it

  1. Click “Choose images”, drop one or more images onto the box, or paste with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac).
  2. Each image is brought under 30 KB. If lowering the quality isn’t enough, it’s also scaled down, and a note tells you the new size.
  3. Check the final size next to the download button, then download the file or get everything as a ZIP.

Common uses

  • Applicant photos with a 30 KB limit
  • Student and staff ID photos
  • Profile photos on intranet and HR systems

Tips

  • A head-and-shoulders crop keeps the face sharp at this size.
  • Avoid busy, patterned backgrounds, which use up the 30 KB quickly.

Questions

What kind of photo works best at 30 KB?

A head-and-shoulders photo a few hundred pixels across. If the form asks for exact dimensions, resize to them first: a smaller image needs less compression and stays sharper.

Can I compress several photos at once?

Yes. Drop them all in. Each one is compressed separately and you can download them together as a ZIP.
